The Story of Balmoral at Clifton...

Balmoral is a beautiful community of 179 single family estate homes, generally on one to five acre parcels.  Nestled near historic old town Clifton, our neighborhood is one of the few hidden enclaves of protected forests and pastoral fields remaining in Fairfax County. Nevertheless, Balmoral is close to many major shopping areas, restaurants, destinations and commuter routes.

Location, location, location! About 25 miles west of Washington, DC, Balmoral sits just over a mile northwest of the town proper of Clifton, about four miles south of Centreville, and Bull Run River provides much of our western border.  The neighborhood comprises over 1,000 acres of historic countryside surrounded by Fairfax County parkland, horse farms, and the Westfields Golf Course.

The community is vibrant and sociable.  Here, neighbors are friends, both among adults and among children.  Community cohesiveness is valued, and promoted by an active social/community events committee and communications committee.  Activities span a range from a wine club, bunko groups, book clubs, and other periodic community or privately hosted events.  These events have included the annual community picnic, casino night, progressive dinners, theme parties such as Mardi Gras, Octoberfest and a Murder Mystery, Halloween parades, Fourth of July celebrations, Easter egg hunt, holiday parties, and special tour outings at landmarks such as Mount Vernon and the Dulles Air & Space Museum.

If you are a first time visitor, WELCOME.  Please browse through our site, including our school information, to get a sense of the community, and then come visit Balmoral in-person.  Or contact our community leadership (see the roster on Announcements Banner above).  We feel confident you will want to make Balmoral your home.

To those Balmoral residents returning to our website, welcome back.  You will surely find something new since your last visit.  We are continually refining the site - we regularly update our scrolling Announcements Banner, post Community News Articles, and provide new information about upcoming events and community happenings.

This web site is maintained by volunteer residents on the Communications Committee of the Balmoral Greens Homeowners Association.  We hope the site is useful to our fellow residents. We want to make community information flow easily, because the more you know, the more you can enjoy our great community as well as effectively communicate with our community leaders and community management company about the issues that matter to you.

Volunteers are encouraged and needed; extra help and new ideas are essential.  This site is dedicated to serving and promoting the interests of Balmoral, so please let us know about new ways to make it better - just send an e-mail to: BGHOAcomm@aol.com.

Come back to see us at Balmoral Online,

Balmoral Communications Committee
